WHO WE ARE
The Lanka Youth Organizations Network
The Lanka Youth Organizations Network is a network of 342 youth organizations from around the island that have over 15,000 registered members from all ethnic groups represented in the country. There is also a healthy mix between urban and rural sector membership as well as a mix between male and female members. LYON encourages multiculturalism and harmony between the different ethnic groups living in the country and encourages gender equality.

Vision
To produce Socially, economically and politically, literate empowered proactive youthful generation with the vison and credibility for the success.
Mission
Building a solitary powerful youth network in Sri Lanka, while creating space nationally and internationally to recognize and improve youth talent and skills according to national youth policy principles and values.
Objectives
- To practically implement national youth policy of Sri Lanka
- To increase the number of youth participation of decision making institutes
- To enhance opportunity for personality development of youth
- To create link between Sri Lankan youth and the international youth to exchange their experience on Social, cultural and political arena
- To be a national convener for the youth in Sri lanka
Milestones
- 2006 -LYON was established
- 2008- Played facilitator role for the implementing of National youth policy initial stage
- 2009- became a civil society representation behalf of the national steering committee for the implementing National youth policy of Sri Lanka.
